How do I fix Unknown Fingerprint Error - SSH errors?

Sometimes, after migrating hosts or servers, your Host's SSH Key will change. For security reasons, SSH/SFTP will report errors such as Host key verification failed or, in some SFTP applications, Unknown Fingerprint Error - SSH. This is expected and normal. It is also easy to resolve.

1. Go To Folder

To begin, in Finder click Go To Folder at the top of your screen

2. Open ~/.ssh

Type ~/.ssh in the window at the top of your screen to open the ~/.ssh folder.

3. Delete known_hosts

Drag the known_hosts file to the trash. A new known_hosts file will be created for you the next time it's required.
