CyberDuck is a great open-source FTP/SFTP application for macOS and Windows. It is free to use but you can purchase a copy for a small donation or via the Mac App Store.
FTP and SFTP are the only supported file transfer protocols. FTPS is not supported!
SFTP is the recommended method to upload files to your site. SFTP, however, only works with the following caveats:

You can not use SFTP with sub-FTP accounts created within the cPanel
The username is not your billing-area email address
The Port must be changed to 23261 from the standard SFTP port of 22.
Your primary domain, the domain specified when you signed up, must be uploaded into the public_html/ directory.

You may use your cPanel username and password for FTP access too
You may create additional FTP accounts via your cPanel.
