View headers of an email
In order to trace the origin of an email, it's necessary to examine the Raw Headers of the message.
Forwarding an email removes all of the original Headers of an email. This makes it impossible to trace the origin of the message!
The Raw Headers provide valuable information about how where the message where the message came from, how it was processed on the server and, possibly, the PHP script that generated the message.

Apple publishes macOS specific instructions on how to view the detailed headers of a message.
Other
Every email client provides a different way to view the the Headers of a message. These instructions may differ. On macOS email clients, most provide this functionality under the View menu item at the top of the screen.
